Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have stated that a ex- physician now faces charges for performing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
The Serious Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Charges
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences include:
- Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
